This deck was in rough shape. The decking contractor replaced the entire deck surface and drip edge. This is a great example of fascia (side) mounting a guardrail where there also needs to be a gutter. Counterflashing is tucked up under the drip edge while the bottom edge drops into the gutter. Custom-fabricated fascia-mount brackets are used to mount the guardrail.
